Durban is South Africa’s 3rd largest city, situated on the East coast of South Africa and surrounded by many attractions, is a tourist’s paradise.

Durban can either serve as a base from where you can do day trips to most of the attractions or you can choose to stay the first night in Durban before moving onto beach resorts and game reserves. Many travelers have enjoyed the route from Durban to the Kruger Park via The Kingdom Of Swaziland.

The highlights in Durban are The Golden Mile (beach front area), City Hall, Indian Market, Herbal Market, Cato Manor informal settlement, Durban Botanical Gardens and the entertainment complex uShaka Marine World (aquarium, dolphinarium, fun & thempark with a water world, dolphin, seal and penguin shows, restaurants, shops).

Kwazulu Natal

The East Coast and the province of Kwazulu Natal is a tourist’s paradise. From the dramatic peaks of the Drakensberg mountain range to traditional zulu villages, magnificent game reserves, historic battle sites and the warm Indian Ocean lapping onto wide sandy beaches, this sunny destination, offers a wide variety of experiences.
2-3 hours north of Durban, the state owned Big 5 game and safari reserve of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi is Africa’s oldest and highly recommended as well as a center for white rhino conservation.

There are also several private and luxury safari lodges in the area to suit all tastes. The nature enthusiast must not miss St Lucia wetlands where you can come very close to hippos and crocodiles. In season, turtle tracking on the beach as well as humpback whale watching are unforgettable experiences.
