There are currently a number of good volunteer programs running in South Africa, both humanitarian and environmental.
For example there are projects building houses, helping aids orphans and street kids, education in rural areas, erosion control, alien vegetation eradication and more.
They can range from half day projects to full time commitment for up to 3 months.
